Last I checked, one of the commandments of postmodern philosophy is that “every meta-narrative is equally valid”. To not respect every narrative of a situation makes these people anti-intellectual, dishonest, and mean. Post-modernism has nothing to do with it.

“McEwan shows that London followers of post-modernism are as contemptuous of the scientific method and as potentially racist as Alaskan followers of Sarah Palin.”
Is this McEwan “showing” or Cohen “opining”?
In either case, can you quote 2 (not 1, which would be too few!) “potentially racist” statements or actions by the “Alaskan followers” of Sarah Palin?
So why the gratuitous slur on, the unwarranted sliming by association of Sarah Palin.?
Wait, I know! She loves Israel, and that makes her, and her Alaskan (but not lower-49?)followers “potential” racists!

You, Nick, and it pains me to say so, you are now a “potential MALSIN”
But for that disqualifying and hateful comparison this could have been a piece for the ages!

Wow. Interesting piece, this stuff happens in Australia too by the way. These “liberal” types are rabid idiots and poison much public and private debate.
Well, when they allow debate – most of the time they’re hysterical with rage about USA, Israel, and oh-so supportive of poor little Muslims. Oh, unless these Muslims are little girls who have been deprived of their clitoris! That’s “part of their culture” don’t you know.

I agree with Amis – they are scared that “the psycopath” will turn on them if they don’t appease – they have not learned it seems that appeasement does not help in these situations.

They will, though – eventually. Unfortunately, they’ll take us along with them!
